Open Source, Capitalist and Sexiest Geek Alive :)

barusan abis muter2 di slashdot, trus tiba2 di kepala nyangkut satu
kata yg akhirnya bikin penasaran. What's a geek? akhirnya mendarat di
wikipedia dan nemu artikel2 menarik. trus terdampar di website
pemenang kontes kecantikan para geeks. :p eh ada komentar kaya gini:

I stated that open source completely challenges capitalism. In The
Wealth of Nations, Adam Smith made the assumption (true at the time)
that corporations were geographically bound and that capital and labor
could not easily move. Those assumptions just don't hold anymore,
particularly with the Internet. As Eric Raymond stated in The
Cathedral and the Bazaar, who would have imagined, even five years
ago, that a world-class operating system could coalesce as if by magic
from work done by thousands of people around the world? Linux is one
of the best operating systems ever (certainly better than any
Microsoft operating system) and heralds the start of a post-capitalist
era.*

See, jadi bukan cuma /me yg "percaya" bahwa "hanya" dengan menggunakan
linux aja kita tuh sebenarnya udah melawan kapitalisme. saat ini
kedudukan GNU/Linux bukan cuma alat, tapi sudah merupakan sebuah
senjata bagi "perang suci terhadap kapitalisme global". Ga bisa di
pungkirin lagi kalo sekarang teknologi sedang berada pada masa
keemasannya dan kalo ga diawasin dari sekarang, percaya deh,
kapitalisme akan sampe ke pelosok desa paling terpencil sekalipun.
Well, Just my 2 cents sih. But, I hope this will inspire some of you
